Welcome to the Canmore Illusions Gymnastics Club! We pride ourselves on providing our athletes a safe and positive gymnastics experience. CIGC is a not-for-profit gymnastics club governed by a Board of Directors and managed by an Executive Director. We are located in the beautiful Rock Mountains of Canmore, Alberta a town of about 15,000 residents, and currently provide gymnastics training to approximately 450 athletes in competitive and recreational streams.


Our club offers both Men’s and Women’s Competitive Artistic Gymnastics, as well as Recreational programs from preschool to adult ages. Specialty programs like parkour and trampoline are also part of our program offerings. We employ between 10-15 coaches on a yearly basis, and provide services out of a 11,000 square foot fully equipped gymnastics gymnasium in the Canmore Recreation Centre. Canmore is an active, athletic community and our membership spans throughout the Bow Valley Corridor.


Position Title: Recreational Program Director

Job Summary:

In this position you will oversee the entire Recreational Program at CIGC. You will support and build on CIGC existing Recreational Programs by supervising staff, ensuring quality programming and developing new opportunities for recreational athletes within our club. You will work with management, administration, and coaching staff to continually create a positive and focused training environment that encourages athletes to reach their highest potential. You are an approachable and organized leader with a record of strong communication with parents, coaches, and athletes. Other roles may include but are not limited to; recreational coaching hours, providing mentorship to recreational coaches, holding coach meetings with program staff, and collaborating on a strategic plan with CIGC Manager and Board of Directors.


 Skill Requirements:

-Certified NCCP C1, Activestart, Foundations Trampoline

-Minimum 5 years of Recreational gymnastics coaching experience 

-Strong knowledge of the CANGym Program

-Post Secondary Education in Sport and Recreation an asset

-Team Oriented  

-Excellent communication skills
